Cranial Sacral Therapy I
Cranial Sacral Therapy was developed by William Sutherland, D.O., who first recognized the movement of cranial bones while an Osteopathic medical student in the late 1800's. Today, CST is practiced by physical therapists, occupational therapists, dentists, M.D.’s, chiropractors, and massage therapists. This gentle but powerful technique accesses the flow of the cerebral spinal fluid, also called the cranial sacral rhythm, by a series of hand placements through the head and spinal chord and reveals restrictions in the connective and soft tissues. It is effective in releasing both physical and emotional trauma and can be used on infants as well as adults. It can also be used in areas where massage is contraindicated.
Cranial Sacral Therapy II
Prerequisite is Intro to CST and CST I or instructor permission. This is a two day class. In this class, students will learn to work with the cranial bones, specifically the sphenobasilar joint. The sphenobasilar joint is the joint of the sphenoid and the occipital bone. The sphenoid articulates with all other bones in the head and has been called the “keystone” of the body. Misalignment in the sphenoid can result in disruption with the pituitary gland, blood flow to the brain, and the nervous system and can be connected to symptoms of migraine, sinus and allergy problems, headaches, TMJ, neck and back pain, and emotional problems. Students will learn to feel for the universal movements in the sphenobasilar joint and for any restrictions that might be present. As in previous classes, students will practice hand placements and palpation skills on each other under Instructor supervision.

Working With the Body Not On The Body:
A Soft Touch Unwinding Technique-
Through my years of training and practicing cranial sacral therapy, I gradually developed a way of incorporating the light touch and unwinding of CST with Swedish massage techniques. In this class, students will learn and practice this way of working to resolve restrictions and pain in the neck and shoulders. It is helpful if students have a basic understanding of the Cranial Sacral Rhythm and the system involved. We will discuss the difference between working with the body as opposed to on the body and compare the difference in how it feels from both the perspective of the practitioner and the client. Students will learn hand placement and how to adapt pressure by listening to cues from the body. This is a hands-

This class will increase your knowledge of the complex anatomical structures of the neck, dermatomes, and pain patterns. We'll demonstrate safe techniques to improve neck pain & immobility, tennis & golfers elbow as well as carpal tunnel syndrome. Dress comfortably, bring sheets, 2 pillows and your massage medium
