Abhyanga

Abhyanga it is an ancient Indian Ayurvedic oil massage therapy for healing and detoxifying body, mind and spirit. This ayurvedic detox and stress reduction therapy is performed with warm herbal oils. Abhyanga is a gentle, cleansing massage that involves touch, warm oils and herbs to improve the overall wellbeing of a person. Ayurveda massage therapy is not only a muscle work but the approach is cellular. Warm oils deeply penetrate cells and release toxins.  It is detoxifying as well as healing cellular therapy. Stress is removed from the root place and it promotes self-healing.

Shiro Abhyanga (Ayurveda Head Massage)

An Ayurveda head massage that uses warm oils and a variety of massage movements to stimulate the vital energy points, increase the flow of energy and relieve stress-related headaches. It includes gentle deep strokes and pressure on various Marma points over your entire head, neck, and shoulders. Herbal oils used in this therapy balance Doshas, aids in hair and scalp problems.

Shirodhara

The Shirodhara technique soothes and invigorates the senses and the mind. A total feeling of wellness, mental clarity and comprehension is experienced in this process. Shirodhara means the dripping of oil like a thread (dhara) on the head (shiro). This is a tantalizing yet tranquil form of Ayurvedic oil treatment.

Lying on your back, a soothing stream of warm, aromatic oil is gently poured back and forth across your forehead, creating a sensation of profound, enjoyable and deep relaxation.

According to traditional texts this Shirodhara technique, if done correctly and accordingly, is known to accomplish miraculous healing.

Meenakshi is an accomplished ayurvedic practitioner, with a degree in Masters of Ayurveda. She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist. She was classically trained in India and has been practicing and teaching ayurveda worldwide since 1998. She has natural flair for a life devoted to the study and practice of ancient Indian science. She knows first-hand what a difference it can make on one's wellness by simply understanding an individual's unique body type and making small simple changes to one's diet and lifestyle. Her specialties are wellness counseling , lifestyle management, and Panchakarma therapies (natural detox & rejuvenation).
